What is Testosterone Replacement Therapy?

Testosterone Replacement Therapy is a form of therapy where men with low testosterone levels are administered exogenous forms of testosterone, in addition to other medications, in order to bring back testosterone to optimal levels, and ensure the body is producing testosterone at desirable levels.

It's important to note that TRT does not involve raising testosterone levels beyond optimal levels in a manner which athletes and professional bodybuilders do.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy, or TRT, is the first legitimate treatment to address the root cause of symptoms associated with aging in men. Studies show that almost 40% of the men over the age of 40 suffer from low testosterone (study).

To explain more, we first need to put forward the importance the hormone testosterone plays in our everyday lives.

What is testosterone?

Testosterone is the male sex sex hormone which is produced in the testicles. Testosterone production usually ramps up when males hit puberty, and it’s what results in the development of male sexual characteristics such as deepening of voice, growing of facial and body hair, increase in strength and size of muscles, increased libido, and other such characteristics.

What most men forget is that testosterone continues to play a vital role in quality of life long after puberty. Testosterone is needed to sustain metabolic function, maintain a healthy sex drive, ensure healthy muscle growth, bone development and fat loss, maintain cognitive function, and to generally have a positive outlook on life.

When men suffer from low testosterone levels, their quality of life can significantly diminish (studies).

Do you have low testosterone?

Most men after 30 today suffer from low testosterone, and there are many reasons for this:

  • Chemicals and micro-plastics in our food and water

  • Sedentary lifestyle where we spend more time indoors in front of screens, rather than outside in the sun

  • Increased stress

  • Rise in consumption of alcohol

  • Poor diet

If you are over the age of 30, chances are you are probably deficient in testosterone. In fact, recent data suggests that even men in their early twenties suffer from symptoms of low testosterone, and this is extremely worrying (study).

Optimal vs. Normal Testosterone Levels

You’re probably wondering why no one is talking about low testosterone if it’s such a pressing issue. Well, it’s because no one has actually made an effort to actually point out what low testosterone is. According to most medical societies, the ‘normal’ testosterone range for men is between 200 and 1100 ng/dL. You don’t have to be a doctor to figure out that this bracket is too wide.

Doctors who are experienced in treating low testosterone have found that men start seeing symptoms typically associated with low testosterone when levels drop below 600 ng/dL. Experienced doctors put ‘optimal’ testosterone levels between 800-1100 ng/dL (study).

The reason the official range of testosterone is so wide is because it hasn’t been adjusted for age. Instead, the medical community has assigned one singal bracket for all age groups.

You can learn more about this here

Why are doctors not aware of this?

The truth is most doctors were never taught to address or diagnose low testosterone, apart from in extreme cases such as injury to testicles or testicular tumours. Instead, when patients go to doctors with symptoms of low testosterone such as anxiety, depression or ED, doctors prescribe them medications designed to treat each symptom individually, such as antidepressants (SSRI's) for depression or sildenafil (Viagra) for ED, rather than addressing the root cause. In fact, most doctors don’t even ask their patients to have their testosterone levels checked, ignoring this factor completely.

The OPTIMX Experience

The OptimX Experience

We didn’t just set out with the goal of launching India’s first TRT clinic.

Our goal was to provide patients with the safest, most effective form of TRT, so they feel all the benefits that come with a being on this life-changing treatment.

So, we interviewed dozens of doctors, from India as well as the United States (the TRT capital of the world) and embarked on a journey to create the most effect TRT protocol.

The result? A full-spectrum, highly effective, and most importantly, extremely safe TRT protocol which is guaranteed to produce the most potent anti-aging effect in everyone who follows it.

The OptimX proprietary protocol allows our doctors to prescribe you everything you need, in just the right dosages, to ensure your blood hormone levels are exactly where they need to be.

We are one of the few clinics, not just in India but in the world, that provides a form of testosterone optimisation which includes not just testosterone, but also HCG and Clomiphene. The addition of these two medications in the correct dosages off-set many of the side effects patients face when they supplement with testosterone, while at the same time magnify the overall efficacy of the treatment, leaving our patients feeling like completely different people!

For the first time in India

It's the worlds greatest country. And we just made it better.

OPTIMX is India's first ever clinic dedicated to providing Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT).

The Indian male population is amongst the most testosterone-deficient in the world (study). Also, new data suggests that over 25% of 'urban' Indian males suffer from low testosterone (link).

Low testosterone is an epidemic which doctors across the world are failing to address. Also, many men are afraid to talk about low testosterone, as they might find this embarrassing and feel like they are the only ones facing this issue.

Failure to address this issue is robbing our country of huge amounts of productivity, and is also resulting in a massive decrease in quality of life in those suffering from low testosterone.

At OPTIMX, our goal is to raise awareness about this pressing issue, and ensure every Indian male has the opportunity to be the best version of himself.
